A technical support engineer can expect to perform the following tasks and routines on a regular basis. This role is based in Johor.

Accountabilities:

Structured Cabling & Network System

  • Familiar with Cisco Meraki and others network product.
  • Perform UTP & fiber optic patch cord patching activity between network switches and patch panel / fiber panel.
  • Perform a basic network switch installation and setup.
  • Perform remote desktop to others engineer.
  • Perform wireless AP installation.
  • Identify, track, cable dressing & troubleshoot of UTP & fiber optic patch cord.
  • Test every newly installed or relocated cable in accordance with established procedures.
  • Keep cable neatly tied and bundled while maintaining safety standards.
  • Record time and materials used.
  • Assist other members of the team with network equipment.
  • Be able to work in various environments including outdoors in varying degrees of weather working at heights, and in small confined spaces.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and network test gear.

Requirements:

  • Must posses CIDB card (mandatory).
  • Able to attend and update progress activity with stakeholders. (on-site meeting)
  • Candidate must be familiar with site construction safety procedure & regulation. (work permit / site access permission)
  • Act as the first point of contact for clients with issues concerning their network and cabling equipment.
  • Interact with clients via phone, email or chats and provide concise written/verbal instructions.
  • Resolve issues related to the network matters (T1)  
  • Prioritize and manage the workflow.
  • Keep track of system issues and adhere to the agreed timeline until an issue is resolved.
  • Follow standard procedures to resolve issues by connecting them to relevant internal departments.
  • Maintain procedural documents and reports.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues using customer input.
  • Monitor daily performance of technical systems.
  • Follow up with clients / other contractor, ensuring their network systems are functioning properly after troubleshooting.
  • Maintain procedural documents and reports.
  • Follow standard procedures to resolve issues by connecting them to relevant internal departments.
  • Provide prompt, accurate feedback to customers.
