ROLE PURPOSE

The primary purpose of the Expert Professional Services Engineer role is to architect and deliver professional services opportunities by working closely with our customers, sales and project management team to clearly understand their business and technical needs to support designing and implementing solutions that address and meet the requirements successfully.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include:

  • Architecting and Designing Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 Solutions across multiple technologies.
  • Technical implementation and Delivery of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 projects in a lead capacity.
  • Technically lead Pre-Sales and Projects engagements around Azure and M365 opportunities.
  • Documentation of solutions (e.g. architecture, configuration and setup, low level design documentation).
  • Working within a project management delivery methodology in a lead technical role.
  • Provide effective knowledge transfer and upskilling to relevant customer personnel to ensure an appropriate level of future self-sufficiency.
  • Play a lead role in Transition of completed projects to Managed Services Support teams.
  • Perform project related duties with regards to new and changing infrastructure deployments as required.
  • Act as an escalation point for Managed Service Support team on very complex technical incidents for assistance and consultation.
  • Completing customer Change Requests, including impact and risk analysis, implementing out of hours where required as part of projects.
  • Provide technical consultancy to all other areas of the business to ensure the integrity, performance and support of new opportunities.
  • Work closely with the solutions area of the business regarding developing new services and proposal.
  • Attend technical workshops with customers to clearly determine business and technical goals, needs and requirements.

EXPERIENCE

  • Essential: (2 – 3 Years)
    • Designing and implementing Azure Based Solutions including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS supporting customer business and technical requirements.                                               
    • Designing and leading on prem infrastructure migrations to Azure Cloud based solutions.
    • Designing and implementing Microsoft 365 Solutions.
    • Designing and leading on prem infrastructure migrations to M365 based solutions supporting customer business and technical requirements.                                               
    • Experience in creating detailed and high quality, low level design documentation for technical solutions.
    • Experienced in the design and delivery of enterprise-level Highly Available solutions.
    • Experience in performing customer readiness and security assessments.
    • Microsoft CSP Platform Administration and Migrations.
    • Microsoft 365 Licence Administration and Azure Cost Management. 
  • Essential: (5 – 8 Years)
    • Experience in implementing and administrating Microsoft Windows Server Operating System (2012, 2016, 2019) and key roles, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP IIS, FTP, DFSR and Clustering.
    • Experience in using PowerShell, Source Control, ARM templates, JSON, Bash and deployment automation.
    • Experience in implementing and administrating Microsoft Identity and Access Management Products such as:
      • Azure AD
      • ADFS
      • Azure AD Connect
      • Conditional Access
      • Azure AD Proxy
      • SAML
    • Experience in implementing and administrating ASR and backup solutions such as:
      • Commvault
      • Veeam
      • Azure Backup
    • Experience in implementing and administrating Microsoft 365 solutions such as:
      • Exchange Online.
      • Microsoft Teams.
      • OneDrive
      • Office applications.
      • Web Services
    • Experience in implementing and administrating Microsoft and 3rd Party Security Products such as:
      • Azure NSG
      • Azure WAF
      • Azure Security Center
      • Fortinet
      • Cisco ASA
    • Experience in implementing and administrating PaaS solutions such as:
      • Azure SQL
      • WebApps
      • AppServices
      • Azure App Service Fabric
    • Experience of implementing and administrating Exchange Server technologies.
    • Sound understanding of network technologies and principles.
